We HAD to have these stunningly simple yet gorgeous pots the minute we saw them. Sustainably handmade in Mexico with artisan partners these pots have everything you need and nothing you don't need. We love, love, love the rustic quality of the natural terracotta, and we can't wait to see it weather. The terracotta absorbs water and then it dries with the plant; creating an ideal environment for roots to flourish. The drainage is perfect, and the sizes are ideal. We selected the three dimensions we use the most when we're transplanting from a nursery pot to a larger container.

As you may know, when you increase the size of your plants' current abode, you want their new home to be about 1"-2" larger in diameter. Our smallest essential pot is ideal for 4" nursery pots transplants; the medium essential is perfect for 6" transplants and the 10" is ideal for one-gallon (or 8") transplants.

Please note: due to the matte finish and inherent nature of raw (unglazed) terracotta, these pots mark easily and come with slight irregularities due to being handmade. The marks are easily rubbed away with your finger or a damp cloth. Irregularities are intended to add to the beauty and individuality of each handmade container.

Perfect all around planters

I have all three sizes and love them all for the simplicity, the size and the drainage! I love how heavy they are with the thick sides. So far, the ones I have kept outside have turned a darker and richer color which I love. I'm excited to bring them inside once the summer is over to enjoy the darker color all winter long. The largest pot has been great for one of my monstera plants since it allows the roots to breathe and stretch. I moved it from a plastic nursery pot, I think it was a 8 or 10" pot? I'm now sure but this awesome terra-cotta pot was plenty big without being too big. I keep the indoor one on a large plate I found at a thrift store for .75 so the water drips onto the plate since these do have nice drainage. Do yourself a favor and get more than one, you'll be so happy you did!
