Elana Chichi Huipil & Cognac Leather Convertible Weekender Bag
Truly one-of-a-kind and handcrafted in Guatemala from the finest leather with vintage Huipiles (the blouses worn by Mya women) this crossbody bag has it all! The dual straps for carrying it on your arm are complimented by the accent fabric of a Huipil that was handwoven over the course of 3-4 months! This particular pattern is specific to the women in the region around Chichicastenango, Guatemala. The removable padded leather crossbody strap was custom cut to accent the bag and make it truly convertible. The back of the bag is complemented by a zippered pocket with a leather tassel that's perfect for storing your tablet and phone. The interior opens with another leather tassel and is lined in cream cotton (so it's easier to find things!). It also boasts a zippered pouch to stash your smallest items safely along with two pouches sewn to the lining for more digital storage. Large enough to carry a laptop, clothing, shoes, and toiletries it's a great carryon size for your next weekend adventure or for your everyday needs.
This bag is part of our Holistic Habitat Gives Back Collection!
When we went to Guatemala to source new textiles, we had no idea just how much we would fall in love with the people, the culture, the artisans, and their crafts. We were moved by their beautiful spirits, craftsmanship and, unfortunately, the poverty. We were instantly drawn to help the children of these artists obtain a better education where they will be able to help end the cycle of poverty. A portion of all of our sales will go directly towards scholarships for the children of the artists that helped create these bags. Your purchase will uplift and support humanity in a unique and meaningful way!
