This fun hook could go one way of the other. Depending on your mood, you could mount it with the thumb up or with the thumb down. You could use a series of them in varying positions. They would be super cute to hold a small hanging planter. You could even use it with our Helping Hand Hook. No matter where or how you hang them they're sure to get a thumbs up!
These guys are heavy so you want to take that into account when you consider what you're hanging on it.

Love these hooks-- they're discrete enough to be surprising little sculptures when nothing is hanging on them, and sturdy enough to cope with the inevitable pile of towels or jackets or bags you'll lump over them. In fact-- it encourages me to clear it off more often because I want to see the little thumbs :D When they arrived, I did notice a little inconsistency in the finish (some tiny areas were a dull, dark grey, rather than uniformly having the black semi-gloss coating). Another note-- these do not come with cast iron/black screws, and the screw area is exposed, so whatever you choose stands out against the black wall attachment flanges. I still want to paint our silver screws black so it won't be noticeable. We added anchors to ours, which unfortunately are not covered by the wall mount area and for some reason the ones we own are bright yellow, so I did paint them our wall color. Last little thing (and really, these are all MINOR, I just appreciate a detailed review for a well-informed purchase!) is that the wall mounts are not perfectly centered (i.e., the screws are higher in the "wrist"), so if you decide to mount one thumb up and one down you'll need to be sure to line up the top of fist/bottom of the fist, rather than using the screw holes as a uniform "middle." It took quite a bit of eyeballing, drawing pencil circles on the wall, stepping back and having my husband hold it up, etc, but it's possible, just not as simple as I imagined since the screw placement differs based on which direction you go! In terms of holding stuff up, I primarily use the thumbs down hook, which I consider to be the "risky" hook that might have things slip off-- but no! They are designed in such a way that the upside-down way still holds heavy towels without dropping them. Love these hooks, and would recommend to anyone!
