Where do you source your artwork?

Copyrighted work:

We currently work with independent artists to offer certain pieces of their work under license. These artists are then paid a commission for each of their prints that are sold. We work closely with our artists to edit and format their artwork to optimize the print size and color quality of each work in a way that highlights the work of the artist to their satisfaction.

Vintage Vibes work:

Most of the prints in our Vintage Vibes Collection are sourced from galleries, thrift stores, and vintage vendors. Holistic Habitat obtains and edits high-resolution digital files of these works, which are no longer covered by copyright or are otherwise in the public domain. While we may edit these files for color, composition, and aspect ratio, we are committed to providing attribution to the original artist. Wherever possible, we have sought to purchase a commercial license to distribute these vintage prints, which gives us the opportunity to further support the artists.

Why can't I get every print in every size?

Great question! All of our prints are not fully adaptable to every size available. We have cropped some images to fit the different sizes we offer but those with specific directional or defining features (borders, lines, and meaningful imagery) are not conducive to cropping outside of their original aspect ratios. We always try to maintain the signatures and important features in an effort to stay true to the vision of the original artist. 

Why can’t I get a digital download for every print you sell?

Another great question! We have specific contracts and licensing agreements with each artist and not all artists will allow for digital downloads of their pieces. We will always honor their wishes to stay true to the artist's vision of their work.

Can I make changes to my order?

Unfortunately, once an order for prints has been placed, we are unable to edit, change, or remove any of the prints in your order. However, if we can catch the order before it is fulfilled, we can try to cancel it, and you can place another order with the correct items. Please see below for information on canceling your order.

Can I cancel my order?

Please send us an email with your order number and “CANCEL” in the subject line, we will try our best to stop the order. If you have already received a shipping confirmation, or if your order has been processed for shipping, we will not be able to cancel your order, but we can assist with a return when the order arrives.

Where is my order?

If the tracking status says “Accepted” then your order has been handed over to USPS and it is awaiting status updates. Please reach out to us if nothing changes within 10 days and we can assist you with the next stepscustomerservice@holistichabitatclt.com

What if my order arrives damaged due to shipping?

Great question! As we say around here "Ship happens" and sometimes, the pieces we ship don't get the most delicate handling by the carrier. If your pieces arrive bent or wrinkled because it looks like the carrier used the box to dig his truck out of the snow, have no fear: we've got you! All we need are a few quick photos of the damage and the damaged packaging and we can get you a new one coming ASAP! You must contact us via email within 15 days ofthe shipment date. How do I prep my new print for hanging?

Our prints come rolled in a tube to help it stay safe during shipping. They will be curled into the shape of the tube when you get them. To flatten out your print, we have found that clean books placed on top of the print on a FLAT SURFACE like a clean hard floor (not carpet) or a table, works best. Be sure to leave the print under the book/s for at least 24 hours. You may also roll them right out into your chosen frame. Please be mindful as you unroll your print so as not to warp, bend, fold, or wrinkle the paper. 

When will I receive my physical print order?

The vast majority of orders leave our warehouse in Charlotte, NC within 1-2 days of purchase. Occasionally, a print may be delayed due to backorder, in which case the order will be shipped within 10 business days. You will receive an email notification once your order has shipped, including a tracking number. At this time we don't offer expedited shipping.

Is a frame included?

No. At this time we only offer unframed prints in our Art Print Studio.You may browse our pre-framed Art HERE but we are unable to swap the physical artwork out of the frames for you. We are working on a blog post to point you to all the frames we use and love that are not insanely expensive. For now, we think Ikea is your best bet for larger frames.  

Can I DIY or custom frame a print myself?

Totally! But spray adhesive, heated mounting, or glue can ruin the print. We recommend small pieces of double-sided adhesive to secure the print to any backing. If using a custom framer, tell them that they can mount them at 140 degrees on core foam board for one minute.

Where is my digital download?

An email with a link to download your print(s) will be sent within a few minutes of your purchase! If you haven’t seen it,check your spam folder. Still not there? Shoot our customer care team an email at customerservice@holistichabitatclt.com and we’ll confirm the email address associated with your order and get the files to you ASAP!

Do you ship internationally?

At this time, we only ship within the continental United States excluding Alaska, and Hawaii. We will be sure to alert our customers if and when that changes. In the meantime, we hope that our digital downloads can still be a great option for you! We're sorry for any inconvenience!
